Who/what is most to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths?
Who/what is most to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death? Well, there are really two big factors in this; One of which is Friar John and him not delivering the letter to Romeo. The second factor is the fact that the two “lovebirds” acted so fast. They met each other Sunday night at the party, got married the next day, Romeo kills himself Wednesday night when he finds out Juliet is “dead”. Juliet awakes the next morning and kills herself because Romeo killed himself. They did not even know each other a week and they only slept one night together. A small factor is the fact that Friar Laurence wed the two without any objections. He should have at least warned Romeo that he should wait a while because marrying someone you met the night before is not a good idea.
Back to the first factor about Friar John, Friar John is not actually at fault here. For one, he did not know the significance of the letter. If Friar Laurence had let him know the importance, he might have put some extra effort into getting out the sick house. But like I said, he didn’t know, so it is not his fault. Now if you really want to get into details, then I think it’s the first rat who got the bubonic plague. I think this because the rat got the plague, gave it to a human, that said human spreads the plague to different people, those people spread it to other people, and so on until the people who Friar John visited got it. Those people were sick, so Friar John could not leave and was not willing to risk spreading the plague by sneaking out, if that was even possible. In conclusion, there are two main factors which lead the the death of Romeo and Juliet, but those two factors can be broken down into many, many other smaller factors so it’s kind of hard to tell who is to blame.
